How to Think - Not Feel - About Tobacco Harm Reduction - Ken Warner

Webinar Speakers
Kenneth E. Warner, PhD

Webinar Objectives

* Explain the principal arguments, and the data relating to them, regarding the nature and degree of risks that alternative nicotine delivery systems (specifically focusing on e-cigarettes) pose for youth, especially for non-smoking youth.
* Identify and evaluate the evidence regarding whether e-cigarettes function as harm reduction for adult smokers, specifically examining whether e-cigarettes increase or decrease (or do not affect) the overall rate of smoking cessation.
* Describe the conclusions that derive from a simulation study that analyzes the net consequences of the potential costs of e-cigarettes (encouraging otherwise never-smoking kids to smoke) and the benefits (increasing smoking cessation among adults).
