Competition - Full/Tenure Professor Public Health

Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI) opens a competition for the position of Full/Tenure Professor Public Health
The successful candidate will be a member of the Faculty of biomedical sciences, in which she/he will teach and develop her/his research, collaborating with the colleagues of the other faculties, which work in the field of public health. The hire will be at the level of full/tenured professor (Professore di ruolo).
It is highly desired that she/he is or will eventually evolve in the framework of the Swiss School of Public Health (SSPH+) and develops community engagement and outreach in Ticino and in Switzerland. The successful candidate should also have expertise in one or more of the following specific areas of interest:
Public Health and Ageing Mental Health and Wellbeing Sustainability and Health Community Health Health Services Research, e.g. on health system reform or patient safety Behavioral medicine
Essential skills:
Strong track record of innovative public health research, with publications in high ranking public health and general medicine journals Successful record of funding from a variety of sources, including competitive funding Evidence of effective teaching of core public health competencies and specialty areas (see above list) Ability to collaborate across disciplines and with USI faculty from Medicine, Economics, Communication, Informatics and Architecture Enthusiasm to collaborate with the SSPH+ community, in particular also in public health science fields not covered at USI Leadership skills A broad fundable research agenda, with a focus on diseases with high prevalence in the Swiss population that challenge the future of the health system. Preferably, the candidate should also have: Formal academic training at the graduate level (MSc, MPH, PhD, D.Ph.) in Public Health Formal training as medical doctor Good knowledge of at least one Swiss language
